Lion Park Visit...
So I have been one of those unlucky people who went to the Kruger National Park and saw absolutely nothing, and I mean but for a few bucks, I might as well have gone to the Johannesburg zoo. So for the longest time I have been driving past the signs for the Lion Park and not getting around to going there. Well we finally made a day of it...and I wonderfully surprised. The Lion Park has more than just lions, we were welcomed by good old Timone, more commonly known as the meerkat

The Lion Park also has variety of game including blesbok, springbok, black wildebeest, zebra and giraffes. You can even interact with the giraffes and feed them (at R30 a bag).
The cubs are the cutest experience, soft and cuddly and all those wonderful things you would expect a cub to be. The cub interaction is timed at 10min per session and specific number of people are allowed into the cage, allowing you to take pictures freely. Ten minutes does not seem like a lot of time, but believe me it is more than sufficient.
The white lions are a true vision, and a site to behold. The whiteness is a result of a recessive gene carried by some lions, giving these particular creatures a white hide and eyes that are a lighter yellow than those of the tawny lion. Some may even have very light blue eyes. The survival of white lions seems to have always been a problem because of their very whiteness – they simply lack the camouflage of the tawny
Feeding time is truly a spectacular experience, to watch these majestic beast go at a carcass and crushing at the bones and ripping at the flesh. I know it sounds terrible, but it something you want to watch at least once in your life time.
You can pre book or go through and buy your tickets at the gate. Contact the Lion Park for more information.
