Soweto Wine Festival

So much fun...

The Soweto Wine Festival was bigger and better this year... Hosted at the University of Johannesburg Campus in Soweto and featured hundreds of wines... I love my wines and despite my prompt arrival and purposeful determination, I did not manage to sample everything...

Wine Festival 2013

Besides the wine I spotted some familiar faces...

Master Chef SA judge posing with Fans

One of the wines that stood out for me was the Nederburg Ingenuity Red...Abundant aromas of blackberries, cherries and plums with a hint of oak spice.  A supple and elegant mouthfeel supported by fresh tannins and subtle oaking. This elegant and muscular wine displays ripe fruit and spice flavours which linger long on the aftertaste Read more fancy information here...

Delicous Red

This delicous red wine will be perfect with saucy dishes made from a reduction of fresh tomatoes, with finely sliced rare beef, Italian cured meats or charcuterie.  And is a tasty blend of Sangiovese (50%), Barbera (45%) and Nebbiolo (5%) grapes.

Will post the rest of the interesting finds later in the week....
