Yum Yum...
The 2013 Good Food and Wine show has come and gone, but I would be amiss to not share with you some of the delicious items that I absolutely loved. I first came across Bottega wines at the airport in Germany. Whilst scouring the shops for some duty free souvenirs to take home, I was drawn to this pretty all gold bottle.

Bottega Wines was in attendance at the Good Food and Wine show (rather the distributor), these wines are imported into South Africa from Italy. For the ladies who love pretty things, their bottles and designs scream pretty opulence. The Bottega Gold is a fresh and aromatic Prosecco sparkling wine. The ideal choice for aperitif, dinners and parties. A fabulous gift for special occasions . The Bottega Wines are not to be confused with the Bottega Family Wines (which also has great wines and is based in South Africa).
The Petalo Moscato The Petalo Moscato is a sparkling dessert wine that captures the essence of the naturally sweet Moscato grapes from which it is made. It shows aromas of flowers and fruits, and is balanced by crisp acidity with lovely peach and rose flavours. Both these are available at Makro and Pick n Pay.
Now that you have great wines, add a little cheese and more importantly some delicious preservatives. I came across this divine chili jam (the perfect balance o of hot and sweet). The Familia Punto chilli jam was certainly on of my favourite finds at the Good Food and Wine Sow this year.
Drizzle some of this on some mature Cheddar or Gouda cheese, and everyone will be asking you where you got this from. The website is still under construction, but check it out as they have a great variety of products.
Last but not least, I have finally found a real chili sauce, the kind that would make any Durbanite say "That's what I have been missing"... I love the Paulis Chilli... appropriately named "Something Hotter". Well done to Pauli's for making a true chilli, that has plenty of delicious flavour and one heck of punch.
